Celebrating a milestone - Opening of forteq's 2nd production plant in China

In April 2024 forteq has officially inaugurated a second state-of-the-art production plant in Suzhou/China.

A significant milestone in forteq's journey has been realised: the opening of a second state-of-the-art production plant in Suzhou, China. It will be operated in addition to the existing plant. This new facility is an acknowledgement to forteq’s commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence.

Lucie Toscani, CEO, and the President of the Board, Anton Affentranger, have attended the opening ceremony, welcoming distinguished guests from SIP, valued customers from Konghui (KH Automotive Technologies) and Nexteer, cherished landlord THI, and esteemed business partners from BASF, DEMAG, DSM, and EMS. The presence of friends, colleagues, and stakeholders has made this opening ceremony to a memorable event.

forteq's new plant in China is a strategic move that aligns with forteq’s leadership in the automotive industry. As the demand for electric vehicles surges in China, forteq’s focus on innovation and quality in the Air Spring sector and on new technologies like Thermo-Management (TMM) and EV Powertrain solutions positions forteq Group perfectly to meet these opportunities.

forteq Suzhou provides a full range of precision manufacturing and tooling services and employs around 300 employees. The first plant with the size of 8,318 square meters has started production in June 2002.

In the new production facility with additional 7,487m2, 10 sets of 420T and 280T injection moulding machines, including 5 sets automatic production systems are in operation. All resin types are handled with a centralized feeding & drying system.

“This second plant is an important milestone for forteq in its 22 years of operation in Suzhou Industrial Park. It stands for forteq's wide range of technical capabilities developed in precision plastic gear manufacturing and for the knowhow in the development and production of air spring product moulds. Thereby, forteq can offer a unique value contribution to the fast developing EV vehicle market in China.”, said Thomas Rao, Managing Director of forteq Suzhou.

Looking ahead, we foresee substantial growth over the next 3-5 years, with China playing a crucial role in our global expansion. This new plant is not just a facility; it is a cornerstone of forteq's future success in China and beyond.
