On March 10, 2026, forteq UK was invited to the European Supplier Day hosted by BWI Group Technical Centre in Kraków. It was the first supplier day from BWI Group for many years, so the competition was high. BWI only acknowledged six suppliers for their outstanding performance, reliability, and contribution to mutual success.
We are proud that forteq UK has obtained the Supplier Excellence Award for Innovation.
Together with our Global Purchasing team, forteq UK provided cost reduction ideas, many of which were successfully implemented in the serial production process for an air suspension system:
- Lower cost polymer introduction and purchased part reduction ideas.
- Replacement of a rubber insert by a plastic ultrasonic welded component for weight reduction.
- Cost out ideas for metal to plastic.
The air suspension system is now in serial production at forteq UK.
The award was received by Stephen Leyland, Managing Director, and Steve Roberts, Business Development Manager at forteq UK.
