Tool Maker/CNC Machinist

forteq North America is currently seeking a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist at our W. Henrietta, NY location.

forteq is currently seeking a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist at our W. Henrietta, NY location. This position will be responsible to basic preventive maintenance functions for plastic injection molds.

Responsibilities to include:

  1. Perform injection mold maintenance to include disassembly, cleaning, insert changing, and basic repair.
  2. Maintain the preventive maintenance records for tooling per established procedures.
  3. Assure tool readiness according to the production schedule.
  4. Ensures molds are ready for production based on the production schedule.
  5. Interface with outside vendors for major tool repairs.
  6. Recommend changes required to part design, tool design or equipment capability to achieve acceptable quality and cost requirements.
  7. Participate and offer input to corrective and preventive action and continuous improvement projects.
  8. Maintain proper housekeeping practices and mold storage requirements.
  9. Communicate with company employees in a positive, team-oriented manner.
  10. Maintains high quality standards per IAFT and ISO14001 requirements.
  11. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  12. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and clutter free work area (5S)
  13. Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required.


  • A minimum of three years performing mold-making PM duties and hands on experience with injection molding machines is required.
  • 3-5 years as a CNC Machinist
  • Must have good knowledge and mold making skills.
  • A good working level of plastic processing is useful. The use of a personal computer and related software is essential.
  • Flexible with schedule of work, if needed, for overtime
