Senior Buyer

forteq North America is currently seeking a Senior Buyer at our W. Henrietta, NY location.

Overview:

As a Senior Buyer at our plant in North America, you will lead our procurement efforts to ensure the efficient sourcing and acquisition of materials and services essential for our operations. Leveraging your experience and expertise in procurement, you will drive strategic supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimize procurement processes to achieve cost savings and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and operational requirements.
2. Lead supplier identification, evaluation, and selection processes, fostering strategic partnerships.
3. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to optimize value and mitigate risks.
4. Oversee the procurement process from requisition to receipt, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
5. Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements and mitigate supply chain risks.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and enhance efficiency.
8. Mentor and support junior procurement team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
9. Analyze procurement data and metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
10. Resolve supplier issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner, maintaining positive relationships.

Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
3. Proven track record of successful supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost savings initiatives.
4. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret procurement data and metrics.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
6. Proficiency in procurement software and tools, ERP systems (knowledge on IQMS preferable), and Microsoft Office suite.
7. Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and innovation.
8. Leadership qualities with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
10. Eligibility to work in North America.
