The Operations Manager's role is the plant management of the operating activities of the company. As a member of the management team of forteq North America you contribute towards defining and realizing the strategic focus of the company. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing Quality, Local Engineering, Production shifts, and Operations Support functions (Production support and Tool room). The position is also responsible for ensuring that the sites QEMS is being implemented and managed properly.
Essential Duties:
• Responsible for achieving, maintaining and continuously improving an efficient organization.
• Responsible for achieving the operational performance assumed in the budget and forecasts.
• Manage and establish day-to-day production priorities and fulfilment of customer orders.
• Manage Quality issues and Customer complaints.
• Implement improvement initiatives and lean methods in all relevant departments.
• Responsible for recruitment, placement and development of personnel in line with the growth of the company.
• Assists in defining and implementing the strategic, operational plans for forteq North America, focusing on the operational areas in the organization.
• Manage the growth of the company through establishing a solid operational organization that can keep up with the planned growth in business

Knowledge: A working level knowledge of setting up, organizing and maintaining an efficient manufacturing environment and experience in the injection molding or plastics industry is required. The understanding of administrative matters required for managing a manufacturing operation and the ability to get things done is expected.
A college level knowledge of Production management and engineering principles, procedures and practices, including technical drawing interpretation and geometrical measuring techniques; a working level knowledge of plastics and modern quality system standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO14001 and TS 16949, and in the use of a personal computer and related software applications are required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managing or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
Skills/Aptitudes: Attention to detail; ability to deal with people at all organizational levels inside and outside; good administrative, analytical, mathematical, interpersonal, organizational, planning, problem solving and oral and written communication skills; and demonstrated ability in directing and training people are required.
Working Conditions: Office and environments. Interstate and some international travel involving customer contact are involved.
