The Human Resources Manager plans, organizes, and directs the Human Resources management function of the company, including Personnel, Benefits Management, and Payroll Management. The position is also responsible for ensuring that the site’s QMS is being implemented and managed properly.
Essential Duties:
1. Work with benefits broker with efforts related to the review,
enhancement and implementation of benefit plans for employees
2. Conduct annual Open Enrollment process
3. Conduct benefits enrollment for new employees, review enrollment forms for
accuracy and coordinate enrollment with broker and third-party administrators
4. Review and reconcile benefit invoices, approve for payment and provide
necessary information to the accounting department
5. Coordinates recruitment and on-boarding efforts for exempt and non-exempt employees.
6. Track and manage the Attendance, FMLA, Disability, and Worker Comp programs
7. Coaches and trains management and employees as necessary on various HR topics
8. Confidentially maintains human resource information and payroll system records and compiles reports from database as needed
9. Ensures Company compliance with employment and benefits laws and regulations by working with employees and management to timely address employee relations issues and by communicating human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and governmental regulations to all employees. Represents the company at hearings as necessary
10. Advises employees at all levels on Company policies and procedures, development and documentation. Conducts periodic Employee Handbook reviews and updates as needed
11. Coordinates temporary labor with Operations staff. Manages temp payroll
12. Assures equity and consistency with pay structure and insures competitive positioning with the appropriate population.
13. Drives evaluation and improvement in key KPI’s including turnover, safety and employee engagement.
14. Champions training programs, facilitates alternative funding sources and helps to maintain records as required.
15. Facilitates performance management system, including but not limited to annual performance reviews and compliance with company policy and core values.
16. Act as liaison for Safety Committee

Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field required. Working knowledge of NYS and Federal employment law; WC, DBL, PFL, & FMLA required.
Experience: Five years of relevant, progressive HR Generalist experience. ADP Workforce Now or other ADP Payroll/Time & Attendance/HRB platforms. HR management in a manufacturing environment preferred. Extensive experience handling sensitive and confidential situations, conducting internal investigations, and documenting the same. Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
Skills/Aptitudes: Able to identify, research and resolve problems in a timely manner. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Attention to detail; ability to deal with people at all organizational levels within and outside forteq; good administrative, analytical, mathematical, interpersonal, organizational, planning, problem solving and oral and written communication skills.
